This blessed son of mine has been super duper busy lately with 1001 things at school plus his #secretproject. On top of that, this week has been extra busy cos he had 3 big tests in a few of his subjects as well. To top it off, he was tested yet again the other night when he had to call the ambulance for me.
Mr Dad wasn’t at home when I had one of my major attacks. I can’t recall much as I was in very bad pain, just a few snippets here and there. But I can remember when I was rolling in pain, he calmly dialled 999 amidst the panic. As he was still on the phone, I vomited a bucketload.
At this point, I remember Fatimah’s face going all white as I vomited the whole contents of my stomach. But not Mukhtar - he still kept calm and carried on talking to the operator while his other hand was rubbing my back non-stop. Thank God for his calmness, which helped Fatimah not to over-panic! Luckily, Ali was already asleep, otherwise he would have been crying.
Amidst my agony, I discovered something new about my 14-year-old son. He knew everything about my medical history. He told the operator about my condition, my medication, and everything else in detail without any help or having to ask me at all. He handled it calmly all by himself. While waiting for the ambulance to arrive, he quickly soothed Fatimah and managed to get her to bed whilst assuring her that everything would be OK. Even when Dr Auntie called, she was panicking, but Mukhtar successfully eased her mind and told her not to worry as he had it all under control.
As The Almighty has promised for those who are patient, for every hardship, the reward will be bigger than the test. Omar Mukhtar scored full marks yet again for his Ancient Greek paper. And that’s not all - he was even awarded a credit which will be counted towards his next entry in the Golden Book. He’s currently waiting for his Biology and Latin results, and he’s still got 1 more paper coming up next week. May The Almighty shower His endless blessings upon this darling son of mine, and may He reward him abundantly for all of his sacrifices and his duties towards his mother, his father, and the whole family...💛
Blessed,
Mrs Mom
